Bricks and Blocks: Rough
Color, Bump, Spec
Gnomon Workshop textures are high resolution and seamlessly tileable. This allows for the creation of texture pages of any size - from the walls of an entire factory complex down to the exposed brick surrounding a mouse hole. Every texture has a corresponding bump and specular map. These have been hand manipulated to ensure a proper bump and specular response, and are not simply a grayscale version of the color map. The textures are entirely handled and stored in 24-bit max quality JPEG/TIF format to avoid any compression artifacts often associated texture library images.
These textures are from the Gnomon Workshop texture resource DVDs. The difference between these texture packs and the DVDs are the following: The DVDs include html image browsers to navigate the library. In place of that, we suggest using an image viewer such as ACDsee or Adobe Bridge. Also, the DVDs are all in uncompressed TIFF format, weighing in at 14gb per library. For Gnomonology we have converted them to JPEG at max quality to reduce filesize. Fortunately, JPEG at max quality does not diminish quality. The 'Features' and 'Specialty' libraries, however, are still in TIFF format as they have embedded Alphas for compositing, which JPEG does not support (hence the larger file size). Lastly, the DVDs include Maya/Max/Photoshop training which is not included here on Gnomonology. Just the textures.
'Rough' contains 50 textures, each with Color, Bump and Spec.
